How to sell anything to anyone
Remember that amazing end scene in the hit movie The Wolf Of Wall Street where Leonardo Di Caprio asks everyone in the room “Sell me this Pen”. Ever wondered how you would sell it? I mean really, how do you sell a pen?
Well selling a pen is the same as selling anything else and Jordan Belfort himself actually said the same thing on an interview when asked about this.
Let me break it down for you.
When it comes to making a sale the process is very simple and that is putting the right people in front of the right product at the right time. Let’s say you’re selling a $30,000 BMW, provided you find people who are in search of a new car or even better in need of a new car than you hit the jackpot because these people are more likely to buy. Now this is almost the same as how McDonalds make their money. Think about it, why is it that most McDonalds is found in the middle of nowhere on a highway? Because they want to be in front of the right people all the time and the right people are people who are either hungry or just want a snack. Remember the last time you travelled 100 miles without a break? I can’t, I’ll be so fatigued and drained that I would not want to see a car for a very long time. And McDonalds uses this opportunity because it wants to be the right product for the right people at the right time.
Now my advice to all Entrepreneurs is that when you want to market your product and make sales try to identify who your audience is and are they ready to buy. In order to identify them try this neat little trick to find potential buyers.
1: Are they the type of people that will like or want your product?
Now narrow them further and ask
2: Do they need your product?
Now narrow then even further to determine
3: Is it the right time for them to buy?
If you can narrow your audience to that degree than the chances of having buyers are very high as these people are laser targeted.
